Those of you who are lucky enough to have magazines, brochures, ads, loops, documents, prints, slides, etc. that are pre-1980
PLEASE:

1) Make provisions in your will to get your precious erotica to safety upon your demise. Do some checking to find where to leave it. If you want it to go to friends talk to them. If not talk to local or national archives or the Kinsey Institute. We will accept materials for The Archive. If you you don't do such the materials will be destroyed by your families.

2) Old magazines & prints need to be preserved. You MUST purchase archival quality plastic envelopes to keep them in.

The Archive uses such from a company called Century which we've found to have quality materials. There are other companies that sell such. For your info:

Century 1-800-767-0777
web URL: http://www.20thcenturydirect.com

for magazines or 8 x 10 prints: 8 ½ x 11 #PPV85NB-00

Order a catalog & look it over or go to the web site. They also have envelopes for slides & negs.

3) drop by your local library & get advise on preserving old prints & magazines. You don't have to say they are of an erotic nature. Say the prints are family prints (which should be treated likewise to preserve them) & the mags are Colliers or Saturday Evening Post. These things must be kept out of direct light & away from heat.

Note: Just because what you have exists in ther places does not mean it will always exist. Fire took Man-Age Studios, water damaged Champion & the works of Mel Roberts. All of Lon of New York's work was destroyed the police & it's only prints bought from him by collectors that keep his art alive.

Fires, eathquakes, etc. happen & priceless work is destroyed. The more that is preserved the greater the chances that the works will be there for future generations.
