Up Close With Dany Brown

How would you like to sleep with someone who's slept with Jeff Stryker and got paid good money for it? My name is Buck Naked and I'm with Adult video actor Dany Brown and we're going to dish the dirt on his videos and involvement in the escort business.

BUCK: So how do you describe yourself when someone phones up for an escort

DANY: I usually describe myself as young, 24, 5'7", 140 lbs., very straight looking, and very boyish. If they're looking for a different person, I can always try to describe the escorts I have available. But I usually try to work myself with a new customer. I know I can satisfy my customers well.

BUCK: Do you interview your escorts first?

DANY: Yes, I usually ask them to come over so I can talk to them. I deal with a lot of straight people, first timers, students, street people. I try to help them all out. I've been doing this for a year and I've never encountered problems. It was the same thing when I modeled for three years in L.A.

BUCK: How many co-workers do you have?

DANY: Oh, probably about 10. I just started an ad to hire more models. When I first send somebody out I try to go with them...do a threesome, to try and really get into the whole thing and see how it's going. To check out how well he is performing and how promising he can be with other future customers.

BUCK: So, how often do you do threesomes?

DANY: A threesome will happen sometimes once a week. I have a lot of customers that really like them, they feel more comfortable when I'm around.

BUCK: What's your average customer like, here in Ottawa?

DANY: I get a lot of out of town business. They're usually between 30 and 40, a lot between 40 and 50, but you would be amazed how many customers are younger than I am. Sometimes people just don't want to go to bars, they just don't feel comfortable, and they don't mind paying somebody to meet someone.

BUCK: You've also done videos?

DANY: Yeah, about 100 videos in L.A., 2 films in France, and 1 in Montreal this September, which is going to come out in December. I think it's going to be called "Back in the Bushes."

BUCK: How did you happen to become involved in the video industry as an actor?

DANY: When the first videos came out - when I was 16 - I saw Kip Knoll...It was a dream for me to see two guys having sex on the screen. I felt that it was the most beautiful thing in the world you could see, especially when you're discovering yourself and you know you like men. I always dreamed that I would do he same thing and so one day I just took a plane to L.A.

BUCK: What happened when you got there?

DANY: There were only one or two ads running in the Gay papers so I tried them and I had the worst time trying to get into them. The next year it was a booming industry, but eventually the competition got to big and they wouldn't pay as much. I worked with everyone but they wanted new faces so I eventually stopped...I felt I needed a break. I was getting...overexposed and homesick.

BUCK: Gee, 1 100 videos is a large body of work. Can you name a bunch of them?

DANY: The most popular one people will recognize are: "The Rites of Fall", where I am on the cover box; and there is also a bisexual movie "Innocent Bi-standers". I have also worked with Jeff Stryker.

BUCK: Wow! What was that like? Everyone idolizes him.

DANY: He is very professional. I like him, he's good.

BUCK: Do you think he's straight? Because the last rumor I heard was that he had a boyfriend.

DANY: It's possible. All I know is that when he has sex he gets flaccid pretty easily, but he always manages to do the work. He doesn't take a lot of time, like some people. He's very professional. I have also worked with Falcon, two films.

BUCK: For a a young university student who is thinking that videos are something he would like to do, how much is the pay?

DANY: Video work pays good, depending on how top of a model you are...you've got to be very big, very tall, very well hung.

BUCK: So you actually get paid by the inch, is that what you're saying?

DANY: Yes, if you're tall and you have a big dick you could ask for big bucks.

BUCK: Which would be...?

DANY: Which would be probably a $1000 a scene with 2 or 3 scenes per video. If you go on the box cover you get paid for the photo session. If they do pictures and they want to send them to a magazine for promo...for all that stuff you could get about $3500  - $4000. If you can really handle yourself well as an agent you could get up to $5000 a video, that's if you're really a top model, blond and beautiful. When I came back from L.A. I had $30,000 American in the bank. It paid a lot, but actually I make more money now in Ottawa.

BUCK: Really...wow.

DANY: Because of my name, I can see a lot of people for a reasonable amount of money.

BUCK: What qualifications do you need to be in the video business?

DANY: Whether they're a top or bottom; what kind of people they like; their measurements; and how much money they're expecting. It's also an asset if the guy works out, if he had a good tan, if he is good looking. As long as he can get into the scene...you have to be able to perform and use condoms. I appreciate when a producer is kinda strict and expects everything from models. When it's time to kiss, it's time to kiss and if you're straight, well you don't want to kiss, you get off the set.

BUCK: Did you ever do an orgy scene?

DANY: Yes, with about seven guys in a train. We were aliens coming to America. They rented a box car and there was someone shaking it during filming. It was called "Black Bullet."

BUCK: Wow, that's hot. You've also been to Europe to do some films.

DANY: Ya, two in France [one was "Hand in the Fire"

BUCK: What was it like working in France? Different attitudes about sex?

DANY: Yes, the French have a lot of class. They really know how to treat you well. I stayed in castles. I was treated like a king...for two weeks I ate in big restaurants and I didn't pay for anything. The producer was also very demanding...but he was very satisfied with me. The models he had were very special, because they were very different from the models in the states. He got models from all over Europe. He had a special model - one of his favorites. He was Algerian-French and when he would push on his ass, his [sphincter] would [bloom] like a flower. DANY: Well, I haven't done a scene for about three years. This one is the sequel to the French film. BUCK: How much longer do you think you can do this?
